Burnley drink-driver fined and banned

A 27-year-old drink-driver, almost one-and-a-half times the limit, has been banned for a year.

Neil Durkin was caught on Colne Road in Burnley last September 7st, the town's magistrates were told.

Durkin gave a sample showing 118 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood when he was tested by police. The legal limit is 80.

The defendant, of Dugdale Street in Burnley, admitted driving with excess alcohol and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence. He was fined £120 with a £32 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
