Gig review: The Waterboys
But 30 odd years on, I am pleased to say one of my favourite bands is still going strong. And on a windy night in Glasgow, I was transported back to the halcyon days of The Waterboys, who always wowed me with their fabulous mix of Celtic folk music sprinkled with a dash of rock and roll!
They didn’t disappoint either with the night kicked off with Destinies Entwined, my favourite song from their new album Modern Blues.

Hide AdLead singer Mike Scott and his worldly band of musicians entertained for a solid two and a half hours, mixing new songs with the old.
Rosalind You Married the Wrong Guy had the audience toe tapping in delight before the old favourites The Whole of the Moon and Fisherman Blues brought the house down.
It was a trip back to the old days and Scott and his boys may look a little older round the edges, but boy can they still play a mean gig!
