Two fire engines from Nelson were called to a house fire just before 7-30am this morning.
The fire broke out at the property in Berkeley Street and firefighters used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the flames.
One casualty was assessed by Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service personnel prior to the arrival of North West Ambulance Service paramedics.
Crews were in attendance for approximately one hour.
