Two second half goals from Nottingham Forest substitute David McGoldrick were enough to see off the challenge of the Clarets who lost Marvin Bartley to a red card in the first half.
Both teams started the game slowly, with Chris Eagles’s shot thirty minutes in, the best effort before Marvin Bartley received his marching orders for a rash challenge on Luke Chambers.

Hide AdThe second half Burnley were the victims of a Nottingham Forest onslaught, and the deadlock was broken when David McGoldrick was first to react after Burnley failed to clear Lewis McGugan’s free-kick.
McGoldrick wrapped up the points for Forest in the dying seconds of the game latching on to Rob Earnshaw’s square pass to leave the Claret’s play-off hopes dangling by a thread.
