Hameldon Hill fell race to start Grand Prix series
The race route starts and finishes on Peel Park School field in Accrington, and takes in the Coppice, Moleside Moor and Great Hameldon Hill.
The route is marked and marshalled so people unfamiliar with the area will have no problems finding their way around.

The senior race, for those 16 years of age and over, starts at noon, but there are short races for children from age six to 15 starting from 11 a.m.
The distances comply with the Fell Runners Association.
All children receive a race medal for taking part.
The first event is for children under eight, who must be at least six on the day of the race, starting at 11 a.m.
The race is a maximum distance of one kilometre – just over half a mile – which involves running a lap round the school field.

Hide AdThe second event is for children eight years old and under 10, starting around 11-15 a.m. – a maximum distance of two kilometres (a mile and a quarter), which is two laps of the school field.
The third event is for children 10 years of age and under 16, starting around 11-30 a.m. – a maximum distance of three kilometres (just under two miles) involving a run around the coppice, which is marked and marshalled.
Juniors must have parental/guardian consent, entry is £1 and there is a medal for all finishers.
The senior race is 9.6 kilometres (six miles) with 338 metres (1,100 feet) of ascent.

Hide AdIn accordance with the Fell Runners Association rules, runners must bring waterproof whole body cover to the race, in case it is needed.
A decision will be made on the day of the race on what must be carried, depending on the weather.
Registration for the race will take place in the Peel Park Hotel, Turkey Street, Accrington. BB5 6EW.
Entries will be taken on the day from 9-30 a.m. at a cost of £5 for seniors and £1 for juniors.
